No supplied source states whether Blue Motes or Wild Cores can unlock a Wild Rift champion, or what an unlock would cost in either currency. Wild Cores is a confirmed in-game currency, and the chroma prices in the official support material are the part you can check today.
Key takeaways
- Blue Motes appears only in a truncated teaser; no supplied source confirms how it is earned or what it buys.
- According to the official chroma support page dated July 18, 2025, individual chromas cost 250 Wild Cores each and the hidden chroma bundle costs 2,000 Wild Cores.
- Before spending either currency on a champion, compare the in-game unlock price in both, because the supplied material has no unlock price for either.
What are Blue Motes in Wild Rift and how are they earned?
Blue Motes is named in one place in the supplied material: a teaser for the Wild Pass and Mini Pass article, listed next to account XP and champion mastery. The teaser cuts off before its sentence ends, so it does not say how Blue Motes are earned or spent.
Blue Motes is also absent from the currency list in the Wild Rift store support article, so its status as a Wild Rift currency is unconfirmed. Treat any earning rate or unlock price for Blue Motes as unverified until an official Wild Rift page states it.
If a third-party page gives Blue Motes figures, check them against the official pages before you act on them. The supplied material cannot confirm them either way.
What do Wild Cores buy in Wild Rift?
Wild Cores is listed among the in-game currencies in the Wild Rift store support article. The official chroma support page lists two Wild Cores prices, dated July 18, 2025:
- Individual chromas: 250 Wild Cores each.
- Hidden chroma bundle: 2,000 Wild Cores.
Chromas are tied to a specific skin, and access depends on ownership. The champion and that skin both have to be in your account before the matching chromas become available to you. The supplied material does not describe any other route to these chromas.
What do Chroma Orbs cost?
Chroma Orbs are priced in Chroma Orb Tickets, not Wild Cores. Opening one Chroma Orb takes 10 Chroma Orb Tickets, and the Full Set of six Chroma Orbs costs 60 Chroma Orb Tickets. Each standard chroma in an orb has a 15.83% chance, and the secret chroma has a 5% chance.
According to the same page, if you open 20 Chroma Orbs without getting the secret chroma, you receive it for free. Chroma Orbs and Scanners cannot be refunded, so count your Chroma Orb Tickets before you open any. These figures are dated July 18, 2025 and may not match current in-game prices.
Can Blue Motes or Wild Cores unlock a Wild Rift champion?
No supplied source states an unlock rule for Blue Motes, and none gives a champion unlock price in Blue Motes or in Wild Cores. The Wild Cores prices above show what Wild Cores buy, not what they unlock.
Neither currency can be confirmed as a way to unlock a champion until an official page publishes that cost. Any article or post that names an unlock price for either currency goes beyond what the supplied material shows.
Which currency should you spend on a champion?
The supplied material gives no default answer, so the decision rests on the in-game numbers. Use this order before you spend:
- Find the unlock price of the champion in Wild Cores in the game.
- Find the unlock price in Blue Motes, if the game shows one for that champion.
- Confirm you hold enough of the currency you plan to spend to cover that price.
- Spend only after both checks, because a chroma price is not an unlock price.
The patch notes for 7.3a, 7.2d, 7.2c and 7.2b do not address champion unlock costs, so they do not settle this check. Reading a chroma price as an unlock price is the error to avoid here, because they are different purchases.
What do Wild Cores cost at The Nexus, and where can you buy them?
The Nexus catalog lists three Wild Cores packs: 425, 1000 and 1850 Wild Cores. The prices are on the store page and are not repeated here. The catalog data is dated October 19, 2026.
To compare value per core, divide each listed price by its Wild Cores amount on the same day, then compare the three packs. The catalog does not state whether any pack carries bonus Wild Cores, and it does not confirm that Nexus prices match in-game Wild Cores prices. Use the in-game amounts as your check.
The catalog lists eight sale regions: Europe, North America, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Turkey, Indonesia and Thailand. It also states that delivery is automatic after payment. Before you pay, work through these checks:
- Confirm your region is one of the eight listed.
- Confirm the pack size covers the Wild Cores you need.
- Read the Wild Rift Wild Cores payment guide for local payment options, then pay.
Are Wild Cores and in-game purchases refundable?
Some are and some are not. According to the official store support material, the rules split like this:
- Chroma Orbs and Scanners cannot be refunded.
- Unused Chroma Orb Tickets can be refunded if purchased within the last 14 days.
- Directly purchased chromas can be refunded under the same 14-day condition, if unused.
The supplied sources do not state a refund rule for Wild Cores themselves. Before you buy, check the official chromas support page and your purchase record. A common mistake is assuming the 14-day window covers Chroma Orbs or Scanners. It does not.
